Housing that is designed for its occupants to have privacy without being disturbed when the air conditioning unit is carried out periodic maintenance.

By relying on the right air-conditioning installation technique, comfort and privacy are maintained at all times.

Ideally, the air conditioning installation process is done in the early planning stages, when the physical construction process has not yet begun. But what happens when this process is done in the middle of construction when 50% of the building frame is firmly established, coupled with the special request: during AC maintenance, it should not disturb the privacy and comfort of the occupants? This is something that needs special attention, However it is possible to do. The air conditioning units were
placed in an easily accessible area so that when maintenance was needed, the technicians do not need to enter the house. The house is located at the Puri lndah area, West Jakarta, which is indirectly influences the indoor coolness of the room because during the day the temperature is high and the sunlight is quite hot.

With a half-finished building frame, the placement of the air conditioner was calculated very carefully and meticulously. Cutting into the existing structure was not an option. Instead, the air conditioner is actually located outdoors, relying on the openings in the wall, but the coolness is still felt throughout the house. Air blows in from the black stripes on the ceiling, flowing through the black lines on the ceiling, and goes evenly throughout the house. Another challenge in the installation of the air conditioner in this house is the presence of lights beside the air openings of the air conditioner. When heat meets cold, there will be condensation that causes the air temperature to feel less cold. It was considered during the installation for the air system to be able to compromise between hot and cold temperatures and not ruin the overall aesthetics of the house.

To maximize the flow of cool air, the use of central air conditioning in a large room is very appropriate. The central air conditioner can be switched on as needed simultaneously so the room cools down faster and is more cost-efficient.

When the AC is programmed to turn on at a certain time of the day, when a room that was previously empty because the occupants are out of the house for school or work, it will still feel cold when they return home. This avoids the need for a new AC just ‘chase’ low temperatures during hot weather, which will consume more energy.
